![]() I will have to say, surfshark was better at Privacy and security. last observation: when rebooting under surfshark, surfshark loaded first then my Torrent app. as surfshark outperformed NORD VPN on security and PRIvacy.my only complaints with surfshark was it did not have PROXY servers, and Idle time more that 6 hours would cause my bandwidth to slow to a crawl or stop causing me to have to reboot. How did nordVPN fail? was my socks5 Proxy at fault? even though it showed i was downloading from a NORDVPN server? or was the PROXY not secure at all. I ran surfshark for 6 months and Randomly downloaded test files to see how secure it was. it too passed the IP leak test showing nothing from my ISP. I had tried the same test with Surfshark. and today i got a DMCA notice in the mail. I then tested all my connections to ensure my ip was masked. I setup a proxy socks 5 server connection on both and did an ipleak test. I tested those and found them to work well, So i thought. and i do admit, it was stable, but not much faster than surfshark. i would come home, and have to restart surfshark, or in some cases reboot the PC. this caused issues while at work when i tried to remote connect to my NAS. the only complaint was since my PC is on 24/7 I found the surfshark connection to slow to a crawl after a period of time. but about 6 months in to it, and after a lot of updates it got more stable. at first surfshark kept crashing and exposing me to the net. Take advantage of that and see which VPN feels like a better fit for your browsing habits.I got surfshark, Still have the plan for 1 more year. Remember, both NordVPN and Surfshark offer money-back guarantees, so you can try them out without any risk. On the other hand, if unlimited simultaneous connections and affordability are your top priorities, Surfshark could be the one for you. If you're looking for features like a dedicated IP address or if you’re willing to pay more, a password manager and even cloud storage, NordVPN might be your best bet. ![]() So, which one should you choose? It ultimately depends on your specific needs. Surfshark is a much more affordable option, but doesn’t offer as many extras as NordVPN. NordVPN offers more than just a VPN, but even then the price for the standard plan is high. Now, when it comes to pricing, both VPNs offer competitive options. But if you're someone who wants to protect as many devices as possible, Surfshark might be your pick. With NordVPN, you get six simultaneous connections, which is fine. One standout feature of Surfshark is its unlimited simultaneous connections. They both have a pretty robust set of features like obfuscated servers and multi-hop support, but NordVPN offers dedicated IP addresses and an Onion over VPN feature, something Surfshark does not currently offer. Both NordVPN and Surfshark have a vast network of servers available, but NordVPN edges them out with over 5000 servers compared to Surfshark’s 3200+ servers. Now, let's talk about the technical features that make these VPNs shine. They’re pretty beginner friendly and I’ve had no trouble navigating them from the get go. When it comes to user experience, both NordVPN and Surfshark have great user interfaces. As someone who has tried both, I thought I'd share my two cents on the matter. ![]() I've seen a lot of questions floating around about NordVPN and Surfshark.
